GOOD MORNING EVERYONE:
Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message.....I hope each of you had a fantastic weekend filled with fun and relaxation. Let us start to live the rest of our days with our eyes wide open. Do you see all the greatness that surrounds you? Do you see all the love in your life? Do you see all the wonderful opportunity that is waiting for you? Do you see all the fabulous responsibility you have? When we start to look at things with a clear mind and a hopeful heart we will see something different. We will see, most of all, that what we look at and what we focus on is a choice. We have 86,400 seconds each and every day. We choose how to use them and we choose what to do with them. Choose to see and be what you wish for.

Climb 'Til Your Dream Comes True
by Helen Steiner Rice
Often your tasks will be many,
And more than you think you can do.
Often the road will be rugged
And the hills insurmountable, too.
But always remember,
The hills ahead
Are never as steep as they seem,
And with Faith in your heart
Start upward
And climb 'til you reach your dream.
For nothing in life that is worthy
Is ever too hard to achieve
If you have the courage to try it,
And you have the faith to believe.
For faith is a force that is greater
Than knowledge or power or skill,
And many defeats turn to triumph
If you trust in God's wisdom and will.
For faith is a mover of mountains,
There's nothing that God cannot do,
So, start out today with faith in your heart,
And climb 'til your dream comes true!

Not a Duck!
Many of you know that a philosophy I live by is that each one of us is the average of the people we surround ourselves with. This is how RE/MAX was built...great agents sharing ideas with other great agents. It is the same values system in which we have built RE/MAX Metro. When you surround yourself with Eagles, it elevates your own bar. Since you are one of those Eagles with whom I have the pleasure to work with, I wanted to share this short video, www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKWf7FmUp0U. I hope this inspires you to have a wonderful Friday. keep up the great work that you do. You just never know who you are in inspiring. How Do You Measure Your Time?
Good Afternoon: How do you measure your time on this planet? Are you measuring it in the number of times you get to smile each day? How about the number of times you get to see someone else smile? There are lots of ways to measure your 525,600 minutes each year. Make sure you cherish each one by measuring your time in happiness. Too often, we don't realize all the blessings we have until they are gone. Tomorrow, leave work a little early or take the afternoon off. Spend that time with a friend, spouse, or child. Life is awesome. It's ok to sit back, relax, and smell the roses every once and a while. When we look back at our lives twenty years from now, we might not remember every real estate transaction we did, but we will remember a relaxing afternoon with a loved one. I hope you enjoy the article below. You are an amazing person. Thank you for being you.
525,600 Minutes: How Do You Measure What Matters in a Year?
By Elisha Goldstein, Ph.D.
The musical Rent that came out in a New York City Workshop in 1994 reminded us to question how we measure our years on this planet. The cast sings that there are 525,600 minutes in a year, and that some people measure in sunsets, cups of coffee, laughter, or tears of joy. The song brings focus to the concept that we can bring awareness to the moments of our lives and how very precious they truly are.
Joni Mitchell sings the song Big Yellow Taxi where the lyrics say:
Don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you got till it’s gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot
While this song is talking about the loss of natural environmental beauty to an uprising of concrete jungle, the theme of not knowing what we have until it’s gone is a common experience.
We don’t realize the precious moments in our lives that are passing by us all the time as we’re searching for something better.
Is there a way to get reconnected with the sacred moments of daily life?
Can this moment that you’re reading this be considered a space in time where you might reflect on the day behind you and maybe see where those moments were?
Is there something in this moment right now, how you’re feeling, someone who is nearby you, a rare space of quiet with your coffee or tea, that can considered precious?
Simply reflecting upon this can prime your mind be more aware of these moments when they are spontaneously happening.
If the mind says, “been there done that” or “what’s the point, this is of no use,” see if you can be aware that these are just automatic negative thoughts that are likely a result of your mood and at the end of the day, which try to close you off to possibility.
Try this out as an experiment and see how it goes.

GOOD MORNING AFTERNOON:
Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message.....I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend filled with fun and relaxation. As you work hard to achieve the goals you have set for yourself, you will absolutely face roadblocks along the way. We all will and we all do each and every day. How is it that you will deal with them? My suggestion to you is: Fight through it and get past it. When you go to work and someone is negative or just wants to complain - Fight through it and get past it. When you are feeling the stress from family or friends - Fight through it and get past it. When you are having trouble eating right and working out - Fight through it and get past it. There will be many things today and everyday that will get in your way of achieving your goals. What will you do - Fight through it and get past it!!!

Back in the 1920's when Polish-American entrepreneur Leo Gerstenzang invented cotton swabs as a safer way to clean his baby's ears, he called his product "Q-Tip." Actually, his first name-choice was "Baby Gay" - but that didn't sell, so the by-now familiar name emerged. Mr. Gerstenzang chose "Q" for Quality . . . and he must have been on to something, because Q-Tip has become a household word. Which made Q-Tip a good choice for an acronym: Quit Taking It Personally!

The Joy of our Association with Children's Miracle Network!
Good Morning: When consumers hear the name RE/MAX they think real estate, professionalism, and charitable giving. There's nothing I'm prouder to talk about than our affiliation with Children's Miracle Network where the money we raise goes to the local children's hospital. How many organizations do you know of that can say they have raised over $100 million for any charity? Not only has RE/MAX donated $100 million to this wonderful organization, they continue to strive for even higher giving goals. That's why I was so proud to read the story below. Ethan will be performing at the Children's Miracle Auction at the upcoming RE/MAX Convention. If you're interested in a great opportunity to learn from top real estate agents, coaches, and mentors from around the world, please contact me so that I can tell you more about the RE/MAX Convention in March. I'd love to have you join us. For the next two weeks you can register at a discounted rate! Call me for more information. As always, keep up the great work.

$32M Producer Leaves Keller Williams for RE/MAX
RE/MAX veteran Diane Capodilupo and her $32 million-producing team are starting 2011 off with a bang after leaving Keller Williams.
Capodilupo had been with RE/MAX since 1988 and earned her way into the elite ranks. She left for Keller Williams in 2007 to become a franchise owner, but she quickly realized that the move was a mistake.
"When it comes to support and quality, RE/MAX and Keller Williams are like a Porsche and a Pinto," Capodilupo says, adding that she was the only top producer in her Keller Williams office, which included mostly new agents. "If you're an experienced agent, RE/MAX is the place to be and has the highest caliber of agents. I have a lot of plans for my new office; I want to create an Internet cafe and recruit the area's best performers."
Mike Gallagher, former owner of RE/MAX Achievers in West Roxbury, Mass., was looking to sell his franchise. He approached Capodilupo first, and she said yes right away, inheriting his seven agents while adding her own buyer's agent and licensed assistant.
Capodilupo cautions those who might be considering a switch to another brand. "No one will take care of you or compensate you the way RE/MAX does, but other franchises will try to convince you otherwise," Capodilupo says. "Throughout my entire career with RE/MAX, I was empowered and encouraged to succeed, and I achieved more than I ever dreamt I would. "Dave and Gail Liniger are my heroes; Dave revolutionized real estate and told agents to market innovative minds. If RE/MAX hadn't come along, we'd still be on 50/50 splits and the focus would be on the brokerage and not the agent."
There has been a resurgence of returns to the network, as well as new additions in today's market, says Fiona Beecy, Vice President of Brokerage Operations for RE/MAX of New England. "Some agents think the grass is greener on the other side, but in a tough market, they need the support and tools that only RE/MAX offers," Beecy says. "As a result, we're attracting high-quality, experienced agents."

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE:
Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message.....Way to finish STRONG! We just finalized the statistics for December and RE/MAX Metro agents closed 88 transactions equaling just over 17 million dollars in sales. GREAT JOB! Let's keep the momentum going through January. (…and people say nobody moves in December.)
As we prepare for the week ahead, let us keep in mind that each day that we go through is gone forever. Let us not dwell on it, but rather use it to our advantage and make the very most out of each and every day. I would encourage you to look at each hour of the day as a building block of your future. Are you doing something of value that will make you a better person down the road? Are you helping others in their lives? Are you just getting through the day or are you actually living. We all must do a few things we may not want to from time to time. The challenge is to do them with a smile and in the best way that we can. Make sure you try to get enjoyment out of everything you do this week. One thing is for certain in this world - Everyone Dies, But Not Everyone Lives.

THE DEW DROP
By: Peter Hughes
As the sun rose, a dew drop became aware of its surroundings. There it sat on a leaf, catching the sunlight and throwing it back out. Proud of its simple beauty, it was very content. Around it were other dew drops, some on the same leaf and some on other leaves round about. The dew drop was sure that it was the best, the most special dew drop of them all.
Ah, it was good to be a dew drop.
The wind rose and the plant began to shake, tipping the leaf. Terror gripped the dew drop as gravity pulled it towards the edge of the leaf, towards the unknown. Why? Why was this happening? Things were comfortable. Things were safe. Why did they have to change? Why? Why?
The dew drop reached the edge of the leaf. It was terrified, certain that it would be smashed into a thousand pieces below, sure that this was the end. The day had only just begun and the end had come so quickly. It seemed so unfair. It seemed so meaningless. It tried desperately to do whatever it could to cling to the leaf, but it was no use.
Finally, it let go, surrendering to the pull of gravity. Down, down it fell. Below there seemed to be a mirror. A reflection of itself seemed to be coming up to meet the dew drop. Closer and closer they came together until finally...
And then the fear transformed into deep joy as the tiny dew drop merged with the vastness that was the pond. Now the dew drop was no more, but it was not destroyed.
It had become one with the whole.

The Metro Message
Good Morning Everyone:
Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message...Well, Happy New Year to all of you. As we prepare for 2011, we must remember all that we have learned both personally and professionally over the past year. Let us carry with us into this new beginning a heart full of hope, a mind full of possibility, and eyes full of opportunity. I am sure some of you have a few New Year resolutions that you would like to keep. I only have one and it is the only one I would strongly recommend to each of you. I resolve to do everything better than I did before. It is simple yet powerful and we all know we do not need dramatic change in our lives to have dramatic effects. I wish you the best New Year of your life and let us all start today to make it that way.
Encouragement Corner...
As we look into 2011 we look at a block of time. We see 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes, 31,536,000 seconds. And all is a gift from God. We have done nothing to deserve it, earn it, or purchased it. Like the air we breathe, time comes to us as a part of life.
The gift of time is not ours alone. It is given equally to each person. Rich and poor, educated and ignorant, strong and weak-every man, woman and child has the same twenty-four hours every day.
Another important thing about time is that you cannot stop it. There is no way to slow it down, turn it off, or adjust it. Time marches on.
And you cannot bring back time. Once it is gone, it is gone. Yesterday is lost forever. If yesterday is lost, tomorrow is uncertain. We may look ahead at a full year's block of time, but we really have no guarantee that we will experience any of it.
Obviously, time is one of our most precious possessions. We can waste it. We can worry over it. We can spend it on ourselves. Or, we can invest it in the people and things we love.
The new year is full of time. As the seconds tick away, will you be tossing time out the window, or will you make every minute count?
Words To Live By...
We spend Jauary 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives...not looking for flaws, but for potential.
Ellen Goodman
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul.
G.K. Chesterton
Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man.
Benjamin Franklin
Year's end is neigher an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.
Hal Borland
The Old Year has gone. Let the dead pat bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!
Edward Payson Powell
Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.
Oprah Winfrey
New year, same goal.
Joe King
It wouldn't be New Year's if I didn't have regrets.
