Veterans Day

Good Afternoon: What better way to celebrate this important holiday than by offering a personal THANK YOU to five veterans that you know? There are men and women of honor all around us, many like our leader Dave Liniger, who rarely talk about their heroism in wars past. Find them, thank them, and appreciate them for the sacrifices they made to protect our country. If you don't know a veteran, please visit your local cemetery and pay respect to those who have passed on. Leave a flag or a flower behind to show that nobody has forgotten their sacrifice. Please take a moment today to reflect upon your blessings and enjoy your day.

They Did Their Share

On Veteran's Day we honorSoldiers who protect our nation. For their service as our warriors,They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;Some were volunteers;For some it was just yesterday;For some it's been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,On land or on the sea,They did whatever was assignedTo produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn't.They defended us everywhere. Some saw combat; some rode a desk; All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,For low pay and little glory,These soldiers gave up normal lives,For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;Don't let politics get in the way.Without them, freedom would have died; What they did, we can't repay.

We owe so much to them,Who kept us safe from terror,So when we see a uniform,Let's say "thank you" to every wearer.

Metro Message

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE:
Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message.....I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend filled with fun and relaxation. This week as we continue to work on and improve our personal and professional lives let us remember that we must not get complacent or short sighted. Are there things in this world you would like to accomplish, but they seem a little too far away? If we constantly look at how long the journey will take we will never start walking. We must start walking and keep focused on what we can see in front of us. The amazing thing is that each step we take brings us a little closer to where we want to be. One step forward is one step closer. Let us think about some of the things we have brushed off for too long and let us start walking.

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER...

Parable Of The Pencil
by: Unknown

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in special hands. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

Metro Message

Welcome to this edition of The Metro Message.....I hope all of you had a fantastic Halloween weekend filled with fun, relaxation, and some candy. Are you truly thankful for all the things you currently have? Are you truly thankful for all the people you have met and are surrounded by? Are you truly thankful for all the situations you have been through - the good and the bad? The fine art of being thankful is very easy to master. You must drop all your preconceived notions about how things should be and start taking things for how they are. Yes, of course we should want to work hard and improve ourselves personally and professionally. The things that happen to us are mostly out of our control. The one thing that is always in our control is how we look at what it is that happens to us. Take more control today - NOT over what happens to you, but rather the way you look at it. Be thankful always and forever.
